API Automation lead with Transportation and Logistics experience
About The Position
As a API Automation lead with transportation/ logistics experience, you will make an impact by driving quality assurance initiatives through hands-on automation, strategic test planning, and team leadership. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business stakeholders, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. In this role, you will: Lead the design and execution of robust test strategies, combining manual and automated testing across web, API, and backend systems. Build and enhance automation frameworks using Selenium with Java, TestNG, and integrate with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps. Drive API testing (REST/SOAP), messaging queue validation (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka), and data validation using SQL. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee defect management and test lifecycle using tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Rally, and ServiceNow. Mentor junior testers, promote best practices, and lead initiatives in performance, security, cloud migration, and mobile testing.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software testing across multiple domains and technologies.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in API testing and automation (REST/SOAP).
- Strong proficiency in automation development using Selenium with Java, TestNG, and CI/CD integration.
- Experience with messaging queue validation (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and SQL-based data validation.
- Deep domain knowledge in transportation and logistics systems, including supply chain workflows.
- Agile testing experience with active participation in Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.
- Cloud migration testing experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong communication and leadership skills for team coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Expertise in test strategy, planning, and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing principles (e.g., OWASP).
- Experience with cross-browser and mobile testing using Appium or BrowserStack.
- Ability to track KPIs and present test metrics and quality dashboards.
- Proven experience mentoring and guiding junior testers.
