About The Position

In this role, you will spend a year receiving focused learning opportunities related to 340B policy and compliance, specialty pharmacy, the pharmaceutical supply chain, and marketplace analytics. You will work closely with members of the Apexus teams to gain exposure to unique aspects of the ambulatory healthcare marketplace through support of healthcare providers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). You will be provided with the opportunity to learn from interactive discussions, development of educational materials, and hands on exposure including the completion of a capstone project that aligns with your areas of interest. You will build an understanding of marketplace influences impacting access to medications, including the role of safety net providers, associated public health policies, drug pricing policies and practices, varied methods for distributing medications to healthcare providers and patients, and both provider and payer contracting strategies.

Requirements

  • PharmD or RPh strongly preferred; bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous exposure to hospital pharmacy operations and retail pharmacy operations and may be obtained through PGY1, PGY2, or 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and complete research-based project with the goal of providing marketplace level 340B Program support, enhancement of pharmacy services, or other opportunities to improve medication access.
  • Support team efforts in working directly with stakeholders to provide education, analytics, and best practices to help enhance stakeholder value.
  • Provide support and coordination for monthly Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership ( HSPAL) resident rotation hosted by Apexus.
  • Support Apexus staff continuous growth goals through the development of educational in-services focused on published literature, best practices, and other materials related to areas of interest as identified by the teams.
  • Provide technical assistance to various program stakeholders to help support 340B Program compliance, optimization of savings, and enhanced patient care.
  • Leverage analytics to identify opportunities to enhance value through Apexus offerings.
  • Work directly with leaders within the organization to focus on professional development areas such as organizational leadership, project/time management strategies, conflict resolution and managing effective relationships, building effectives teams, and the development of individual leadership style.
