About The Position

Who are we? We are a local Family Owned and Operated Waste and Recycling Hauler. We are looking to add an Accountant / Controller to our team to assist our General Manager make the most informed decisions possible. This role works very closely with our office staff and mechanic staff on a daily basis. Schedule can be flexible depending on business needs. Purpose: The accurate and timely recording of expenses, revenue, and cash into Financial Reporting Software (Sage) with special care taken to categorize by Truck and Line of Business to drive decision making for the Operations and General Managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required, experience with costing and multiple lines of business P&L a plus or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Understand accounting implications of and financial impact of adjustment(s) to customers accounts by CSRs and assist when needed
  • High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel
  • Exercise independent judgement and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations to Operations and General managers for resolution
  • Ability to communicate well with management in clear and effective manner
  • Looking for someone who is self-motivated and doesn't need a lot of supervision to get things completed timely.
