About The Position

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications: 1. Master’s degree in anthropology; or archaeology or biological anthropology or physical anthropology or cultural anthropology or sociocultural anthropology; OR 2. Bachelor’s degree in anthropology AND Master’s degree in biology, evolutionary biology, primatology, cultural resource management, or forensic science; OR 3. The equivalent. Applicants who do not possess the EXACT degree major(s) required to meet the minimum qualifications must attach an equivalency narrative and supporting documentation at the time of application. Nice To Haves

  • PhD in anthropology; or research and/or professional experience in anthropology or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success in student outcomes and positive student experiences in courses taught at the community college level.
  • Demonstrated success, innovation, and confidence in teaching and designing online courses including experience with a variety of instructional technologies.
  • Experience teaching courses in biological anthropology, archaeology, and cultural anthropology at the college or university level.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all faculty, including collaboration in department projects and activities outside of the classroom.
  • Commitment to effective, innovative, and accessible pedagogical approaches including experiential “hands-on” learning, connecting lessons locally, and the use of multiple modalities to engage a variety of student learning styles.
  • Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, classroom practices to more effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with a goal of closing equity gaps (see Student Equity Plan ).
  • Ability to contribute to the mission of the college.
