The Field Museum is pleased to announce the 2026 Latin American Curatorial Team Collections Internship. This internship aims at providing the intern with an educational experience. While their work will benefit the Museum, the internship is designed primarily to benefit the intern. This internship will be dedicated to working with the Museums outstanding archaeological collections from Central and South America. Start and end dates are negotiable, but the internships must take place within the period May 6 to Sept 30. The internship with Collections will be awarded to an advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate student to work under the supervision of Chris Philipp (Collection Manager) and Julia Kennedy (Assistant Collections Manager). The primary component of this internship will be devoted to working with the inventory, photography, and documentation of material collected by J. Alden Mason on the Captain Marshall Field Expedition to Colombia between 1922 and 1923. Some work will also be carried out on material collected by Donald Collier in the Casma Valley of Per in 1956. This intern will physically number artifacts from the se collections, photog raph items and upload images to the Museums Ke-EMu database. This intern may assist in selected visits to the Anthropology storage rooms in the form of tours and research visits, make housing for collection items, scan and transcribe collections archival records and may present their work at a public event.
