About The Position

Disney Television Animation (DTVA) has over 40 years of legacy as a top producer of kids & family entertainment. Our work is integral to The Walt Disney Company, bringing Disney-branded characters and stories to families’ homes across the globe. DTVA creates both long-form and short-form content spanning traditional 2D, rig-based 2D, CG (preschool), CG (premium), and stop-motion. The main responsibility for the Animation Timer is to ensure that the Director and Executive Producer’s overall creative vision for the timing of the show is understood by the studio producing the animation through completion of timing on the x-sheets (exposure sheets).

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Animation departments
• Knowledge of Traditional Animation and CG Animation pipelines
• Working knowledge of Track Read and Animatic for problem solving
• Familiarity with breadth of layout, background and slugging
• Ability to produce approximately 90-100ft/day (depending on complexity of series)
• Capable of identifying board adjustment
• Alignment with style and sensibility of show
• Flexibility in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Using the animatic and storyboards as a guide, works out the timing of the dialogue and the overall action.
• Indicates lip assignment
• Delivers finished x-sheets per scheduled deadline to either the Timing Supervisor or Director
• Perform additional duties as assigned
