Explore Career Pathways for Laboratory Professionals: The Ancillary Service Technician performs selected ancillary and clerical duties that assist in patient care management. Responsible for maintaining patient flow, correctly marking films and or digital image with patient name, x-ray number, date of exam and with a lead marker, complete exams when dealing with difficult patients, i.e. patients in a wheelchair, unable to stand, unable to roll onto side, or straighten and/or bend extremity, assisting patients when help is needed changing clothes, standing up from wheelchair, getting on and off the x-ray or EKG table, follow established Radiation Safety protocol per HMC Radiology, demonstrate knowledge of safety factors in x-ray room, demonstrate knowledge of all paperwork and forms to sign, correctly turn on/off the processor, clean rollers, and run films, correctly set up and perform an EKG and a holter monitor, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
