About The Position

We extend these global capabilities to the world's leading pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, central banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, individuals and family offices Within GSAM, the Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) group is responsible for managing client assets, and is a market leader in quantitative portfolio management. We use advanced quantitative methods to structure, manage, and monitor investment portfolios including mutual funds, and separately managed account. QIS offers multi-asset strategies, as well as equity strategies, including both actively managed portfolios and portfolios that closely track an index. Clients include public, corporate and charitable institutions, high net-worth individuals, retail investors, and various portfolio management groups within the division. HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL The ideal candidate is passionate about investment and motivated to outperform the market. We welcome individuals who are excited by the prospect of combining creative insights with focus on details of equity portfolio construction to make good investment decisions. Strong programming skills, solid understanding of statistics, familiarity working with data, and some experience working with equities are required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Statistics, Finance, Math or Programming preferred
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box
  • Passion for equity investment
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of statistics, linear algebra, and calculus
  • Strong programming skills (i.e. Python, Matlab, R, Perl, C++, Java, or other languages)
  • Some exposure to equity investing

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fundamental investing is preferred (i.e. discounted cash flows, competitive analysis, financial statement analysis, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Optimization and rebalancing of equity portfolios
  • Oversight of day to day systematic trade generation and execution
  • Implementation and testing of new portfolios
  • Cash management for equity portfolios
  • Monitoring portfolio risk
  • Portfolio construction research
  • Full oversight of multiple portfolios including monitoring of portfolio composition, performance and risk
