About The Position

Analyst – Sustainable Fitch Ratings & Opinions Team Sustainable Fitch is currently seeking an Analyst to join its Ratings and Opinions team, based New York  Part of Fitch Group, Sustainable Fitch is focused on research and analysis of ESG themes for companies and their debt instruments across the globe. The main products include Sustainable Fitch Scores, Ratings, Second Party Opinions and Research, with the support of Product Development and Resource teams. We’ll Count on You To: Understand and apply Sustainable Fitch’s ESG analytical methodologies and become familiar with the company’s approach to assessing the sustainability impact associated with a broad range of business activities. Carry out and deliver high-quality, timely, focused written analysis and data on a suite of products related to the ESG characteristics and performance of entities and debt issuances. Output should be supported by well-construed arguments, backed by verified factual data. Keep up to date with ESG trends globally, both regulatory and sector specific. Interact with colleagues globally to leverage knowledge, gain international experience and establish good working relationships. What You Need to Have: Strong command of spoken and written English.  Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and/or Portuguese. Degree in a discipline with a technical background related to any environmental science, social risk or governance-themed disciplines, or economics/business/finance. Experience, interest, knowledge and understanding of current ESG market themes and standards is a key requirement for the role.  Basic financial literacy and a sound analytical mind capable of working with data. Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills and good attention to detail and comfortable working with and drawing conclusions from data. Attention to detail. Strong team player with excellent inter-personal skills. Self-starter. The candidate will be expected to show initiative as well as manage and prioritize his/her time. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
