Department Acute Care Pharmacy Job Summary Under minimal direction, the Pharmacy IT Program Analyst is responsible for all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities within their respective area of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy IT Program Analyst devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering software application limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of pharmacy applications systems analysis and programming activities. Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Provides ad hoc reports and scheduled reports as requested. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1-3 years Experience in pharmacy, healthcare analytics, IT, finance, or a related field Required
  • PHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound problem solving/decision making with practical critical thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understands software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems.
  • Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems.
  • Demonstrates ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.
  • Understands basic pharmacy business functions and can adapt these concepts to the pharmacy information system application to support business administration.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical employees across the enterprise.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform system testing.
  • Ability to mentor, teach and supervise support staff and/or analysts on application systems to help build knowledge, skill, and ability to meet goals set for and by the team and enterprise.
  • Advanced computer function, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic working knowledge of interfaces and FTP.
  • Advanced understanding of IT security.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or healthcare-related field preferred
  • Applicable application support experience preferred
  • Electronic medical record function; Epic proficiency preferred.
  • Tableau knowledge.
  • Data Warehouse knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities within their respective area of Pharmacy.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering software application limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of pharmacy applications systems analysis and programming activities.
  • Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. (40%)
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving hardware and software to support the customers and management.
  • Provide technical support and assistance as required.
  • Working with pharmacy leadership, develop and maintain dashboards. (20%)
  • Monitor daily maintenance and/or error reports for data accuracy and maintains.
  • Communicates with vendors or department personnel when required to revolve issues.
  • Performs regular audits on IT systems.
  • Maintain downtime procedures for all systems.
  • In collaboration with DH data warehouse personal, build and maintain a pharmacy data warehouse. (20%)
  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for the department.
  • Provides ad hoc reports and scheduled reports as requested.
  • Develop process documentation, flows, etc.
  • Leads/participates in special projects and initiatives as assigned. (20%)
