About The Position

The Analyst IT Network supports the enterprise network's design, implementation, and day-to-day operations across corporate, distribution, and retail sites. This role monitors network health, troubleshoots incidents, performs standard changes, and partners with senior engineers and vendors to ensure secure, reliable connectivity. Success looks like low MTTR, clean change execution, accurate documentation, and steady availability and performance improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years in enterprise networking, NOC/support, or network operations.
  • Hands-on experience with incident triage, ticketing/ITSM, and change control.
  • Exposure to campus LAN, WLAN, WAN/SD-WAN, site-to-site, and remote access VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow/sFlow, syslog) and packet capture/analysis.
  • Routing/switching: IPv4, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, STP, OSPF/BGP basics, QoS fundamentals.
  • Firewalls/VPN: policy objects, NAT, IPSec/SSL VPN, segmentation.
  • Wireless: WLAN fundamentals, RF basics, WPA2/3, 802.1X, guest access; controller or cloud-managed WLAN.
  • SD-WAN: policy-based routing, performance SLAs, path selection, underlay/overlay concepts.
  • Monitoring/automation: SNMP, syslog, NetFlow, and basic scripting for automation/reporting (PowerShell or Python).
  • Tools: Wireshark or similar; standard CLI on network gear; documentation in Confluence/Wiki; diagrams in Visio/Draw.io.
  • Security hygiene: least privilege, change governance, patching/windows, certificate basics.
  • Clear written and verbal communication to non-technical audiences.
  • Structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Time management across incidents, changes, and small projects.
  • Vendor/ISP coordination and escalation management.
  • Ownership mindset with high attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE 4, Meraki (CMNA/CMSS), Aruba ACSP/ACSA, ITIL Foundation.
  • Retail or multi-site experience and ISP/vendor coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network health and capacity across all sites, responding to alerts and dashboards, triaging incidents, and driving resolution within SLAs.
  • Perform standard changes and maintenance windows under change control, including switch/router/WLAN configuration updates, software upgrades, and circuit turn-ups.
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN issues end-to-end using logs, packet captures, and monitoring data; document findings and follow through to closure.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation: diagrams, inventories, IP plans, standards, and knowledge articles.
  • Support SD-WAN and firewall policies, VPN configuration, and connectivity to cloud/SaaS, where applicable.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for outages, RMAs, and service delivery; validate fixes and chronicle post-incident notes.
  • Assist with lifecycle tasks, including device staging, configuration baselines, backups, and configuration compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and proposing automation, tuning, or standards updates.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance as needed.
  • Adhere to security and compliance requirements, including access controls, logging, and patch standards.
