American Express’ Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) team is responsible for leading the enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Anti-Corruption compliance functions. This team has global responsibility for identifying, investigating, and reporting suspicious activity, including money laundering and terrorist financing, and provides broad analytical and operational support for the company’s enterprise-wide AML function. GFCC is part of the broader Global Risk & Compliance organization. Within GFCC, The Program Governance team is responsible for committee administration, issue management, audit and regulatory response, and maintaining GFCC policies and standards. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Program Governance – Regulatory Engagement team that is responsible for GFCC regulatory engagements, exam management, and regulatory finding remediation. The U.S. AML Regulatory Engagement Analyst will report to the U.S. Regulatory Engagement Manager. The Analyst will support the Manager in overseeing execution of GFCC regulatory engagements, exam management, and regulatory finding remediation.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in any of the following: BSA-AML compliance, risk management, program management, and regulatory matters.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all aspects of the job and with multiple audiences in mind.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to think/operate independently, motivate, engage and influence.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across multiple teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFE) preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Etc.) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administering external regulatory exams and other non-exam regulatory engagements on behalf of GFCC, which will include accurate and timely submission of requests
  • Project management support for cross-team remediation of U.S. regulatory and audit findings
  • Tracking regulatory responses for consistency and increased agility in responding to duplicate or similar requests
  • Supporting internal compliance reviews or audits
  • Supporting enterprise GFCC priorities, as needed.
