About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking an assistant to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through the American Civics and History Grant. Purpose within the Organization: The purpose of this position is to assist the Honors College in developing and managing programming related to the American Civics and History Grant both front and back end processes.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to commit to 15-20 hours/week year-round including summers
  • Must be self-motivated and have effective time management skills
  • Must be available for in person events throughout the school year at GCU
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University
  • You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Honors College team to design, plan, and manage events and activities that promote American history, civic values, and national identity.
  • Organize and oversee logistics for lectures, workshops, and special events that encourage student participation and engagement.
  • Coordinate publicity activities, including writing announcements, creating flyers, and promoting events across campus channels.
  • Work with faculty, guest speakers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and meaningful program events.
  • Track participation metrics and gather event feedback to help assess program effectiveness and suggest improvements.
