About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager monitors and coordinates daily clinical operations within outpatient clinics to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. This role provides professional nursing care to a defined patient population across various clinical settings while overseeing RNs, LPNs, MAs, and other patient care staff to uphold excellence in clinical practice. The Assistant Nurse Manager anticipates, identifies, and resolves patient care and personnel issues; participates in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of clinical staff; and contributes to annual performance evaluations and ongoing performance improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and experienced nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am-5:00pm. No holidays/weekends.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Two years of recent RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversees nursing personnel and patient care providers within the clinical setting.
  • Coordinates daily activities to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.
  • Anticipates and resolves patient care and staffing issues.
  • Partners with the Clinical Manager to maintain annual staff competencies and support continuing education.
  • Performs RN Ambulatory duties as needed and collaborates with care coordinators to support seamless transitions of care.
  • Participates in and/or coordinates committees, task forces, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attends and contributes to department leadership meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.
  • Assumes Clinical Manager responsibilities when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
