Now, the Neurological Institute is expanding with a new state-of-the-art facility which will include additional operating rooms and ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG and sleep and brain study services. The Assistant Nurse Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the daily clinical operations of outpatient clinics, ensuring efficient workflows and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role provides professional nursing care to a defined patient population across multiple clinical settings while coordinating resources to meet clinical and operational goals. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager oversees registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and other patient care staff within the designated service line. Responsibilities include anticipating and resolving patient care and personnel issues, promoting excellence in clinical practice, and supporting staff development. The role also contributes to recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and continuous performance improvement initiatives to maintain safe, effective, and efficient clinical operations. A caregiver in this position works M-F/8:00am—5:00pm or 7:00am—5:30pm. No holidays or weekends. After 90 days you can your 4-10s from 7:00am—5:30pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Or the American Red Cross
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
  • Two years of recent clinical nursing experience
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units.
  • Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
  • Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues.
  • Interview, select and orient new caregivers.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.
  • Assume responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in their absence.
