About The Position

The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to “Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line.” WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a full-time Alumni Events & Great Hall Manager . This position reports directly to the Director of Alumni Events and Operations. The Alumni Events & Great Hall Manager is responsible for planning and executing multi-day class reunions and providing support for additional events as needed. This role includes creating and maintaining event webpages, registration platforms, reports, and all documentation required to ensure seamless event operations. The manager also oversees the full scheduling and logistical management of the Great Hall. This includes event planning, contract coordination, audio/visual needs, football open houses, funerals, weddings, retirement and promotion ceremonies, business meetings, and other special events. The position is responsible for ensuring appropriate event staffing and exceptional service delivery. This role requires close collaboration with internal departments and external partners, leveraging event metrics and insights to inform future revenue opportunities and enhance business potential. In addition to regular office work, the incumbent will be expected to work off-site, including evenings and weekends, as event schedules require. A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. 3-5 years’ experience in the event industry. High level of analytical ability to handle complex problems. High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with other and numerous external agencies. Must be proficient in computer applications – Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Blackbaud’s CRM and BBIS software is desired. Must be available for occasional travel and work after normal business hours. The ability to organize multiple, detail-oriented priorities, and work in a fast-paced team environment is a must. The ability to take initiative in identifying more effective methods of work operation are essential. The incumbent must also be detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and possess a bright and positive attitude. Excellent writing, customer service, organization, and time management skills are necessary. We offer excellent benefits and a pleasant working environment.
