About The Position

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting an ALG Practice Development Coordinator in our Washington office. This position supports the business development initiatives and activities of the Administrative Law Group. Responsible for providing administrative support to the Team Management Director, Team Heads, attorneys, and members of the Marketing and Client Development Team, including drafting and updating content for the team’s various marketing initiatives, client pitches, firm website practice descriptions, email campaigns, brochures, experience lists and case studies. Coordinates and produces responses to client requests for proposals for legal services, develops presentation materials, maintains and updates bios and practice-specific marketing materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ job related experience required, including internships, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to generate a large volume of work and be capable of making sound decisions in the absence of clear instructions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Accurate typing, word processing skills and ability to pay strict attention to detail.
  • Spelling, punctuation and use of grammar must be of high quality.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Visual acuity needed for transcription, extensive reading and moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to receive and convey detailed information through both written and oral communications.
  • Ability to lift, carry, reach, stoop or bend, at times repetitively, for tasks involving filing or movement of files/supplies weighing up to 5-10 pounds.
  • Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility regarding work assignments to work overtime on short notice required.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative manner as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of ALG’s strategic business plan.
  • Consults with attorneys to identify individual and practice group business objectives. Recommends business development opportunities to achieve those objectives and drafts written business development plans as directed.
  • Develops, drafts, and compiles client and prospective client-related pitch materials, proposals, communications, and presentations for attorney review. Documents and maintains proposal-related information for future reference. Coordinates RFP processes for ALG led proposal opportunities.
  • Works in collaboration with other team and firm staff to support the management of the firm’s experience in Foundation (experience database), pitch tracker, and HubSpot. Compiles and inputs data into the database and performs advance searches to support the team’s practice development efforts.
  • Supports the development and production of communications, including client alerts and collateral materials in support of business development activities. Works closely with Marketing & Client Development teams and other departments across the firm to ensure quality communications and work product.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
