About The Position
The ABCC College internship provides qualified students with practical work experience that compliments their academic course work, as well as course credit (if approved by the college or university). It also provides the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) Administration with an opportunity to involve college students in various aspects of legal administrative work. The ABCC College Internship is designed to provide students with an opportunity to integrate theory and practice. The internship is an unpaid, non-sworn position that varies from 8 hours to 40 hours per week, or as agreed by the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission Administration, selected intern, and college/university (if applicable). Students can gain valuable work experience, on-the-job training, and have an opportunity to develop a professional networking base for future positions in government service. All the requirements must be agreed to by the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, the intern applicant, and the college/university (if applicable) before the internship starts.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in high school, undergraduate program, or graduate program
- Detail oriented
- Organized
- Ability to complete projects within timelines and under minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Responsibilities
- Project assignments may include scanning primary source legal documents and data entry
- Research for compliance with the Public Records Request Law 950 CMR 32
- Preparation of documents to be archived
- Interns are expected to keep a journal of activities to aid the evaluation process
