ADAC (Alternative Drug and Alcohol Counseling), soon to be under new management as a program of Potomac Community Services, prides itself on understanding the ongoing process of addiction and substance abuse, taking an objective approach to patient treatment. ADAC has developed a drug and alcohol program that provides quality and supportive services to individuals, families, and significant others who need to understand substance abuse. Every person is treated as an individual with unique needs, issues, patterns, concerns, viewpoints, or ideas. The main goal of treatment is abstinence. The Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) provides supervised support in the delivery of substance use disorder (SUD) services, including screening, assessment support, case management, psychoeducation, and coordination of care. This position is designed for individuals working toward certification or licensure in alcohol and drug counseling and operates under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician in accordance with Maryland state regulations. The ADT plays a key role in engaging individuals and families, supporting recovery-oriented services, and assisting with linkage to community resources.
