This is an office-based position that requires full-time attendance, though it is a part-time role with guaranteed 24 hours per week, often extending closer to 40 hours. The Alarm Monitor Operator is responsible for the constant monitoring of over 600 alarmed zones on the Fort Cavazos military installation. Key duties include immediately taking appropriate action upon any alarm zone status change, which involves informing the Directorate of Emergency Services Police Dispatcher for a police response. The Alarm Monitoring Station (AMS) operator must also keep the Contracting Officer’s Representative and the alarm maintenance technician fully informed of all zone and alarm system events that require maintenance action. Maintaining an accurate and detailed log of all events and other pertinent information for overall AMS operation is crucial. The role also involves developing and implementing training programs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, and responding to escalated alarm situations by providing guidance and support to team members. Additionally, the operator will maintain accurate records of team activities, incidents, and performance metrics, and collaborate with other departments, including the Director of Emergency Services Police Dispatcher and Shift Leader, to resolve issues. Fostering a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development, is also an expectation.
