About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist with leadership of elementary student groups in order to improve academic achievement for students. This position is supplemental to locally funded positions.

Requirements

• Junior or Senior status in an AISD high school is required.
• Proficiency in math, reading, and writing is required.
• The ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students and school personnel is essential.
• The ability to follow written and/or oral directions and to exercise good judgment are required.
• Have the ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
• Possess acute and/or corrected visual and hearing capabilities.
• Possess the manual dexterity and physical capabilities to perform all job requirements.
• Utilize effective verbal and written communications skills as well as a high degree of literacy and higher order thinking skills.
• Possess good mental health in order to perform all job requirements.
• Be average or better in energy, health, and vitality.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice To Haves

• Enrollment in a work-based learning course is preferred.
• The experience of having worked with school age students is preferred. This experience may be working in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, athletics, private schools, or similar experiences.
