About The Position

As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• 20+ Years of Age
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
• Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government aviation facility.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by post.
• Control access at designated entry points by verifying credentials, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and/or screening for prohibited items per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting assistance from appropriate authorities, and/or coordinating with site personnel.
• Complete required documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and/or activity reports, and communicate notable conditions to Allied Universal supervision and/or site representatives.
