Under general direction of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA) Airport Operations Center (AOC) Manager, and the Telecommunications Supervisors, this position is responsible for operating AOC telecommunications equipment to receive, process and disseminate information through the emergency communications systems, airfield communications systems, EOC systems, and the airport security systems. The Emergency Management division within the Department of Aviation includes several collocated integrated operations: an emergency 9-1-1 Non-traditional Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) function (servicing Police, Fire and EMS), servicing Security, Operations and Maintenance, and an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) function. Dispatchers provide support to these operations. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of airport operations, aviation security and law enforcement practices, fire and emergency medical service practices, emergency incident management systems and technologies along with a familiarity of federal regulations governing airfield activities and airport security. The position requires thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, and practices of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as well as thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
