The Aircraft Mechanic II performs scheduled and unscheduled airframe, engine, avionics, electrical, fuel, hydraulics, flight controls, drive train, and rotor maintenance on UH-1N Helicopters and other associated equipment, stands, AGE, tools, test equipment, vehicles, and shop support items in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures and the PWS. This role involves applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore operational conditions. The mechanic will apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals. Responsibilities also include performing in-flight checks, testing (including rotor track and balancing, and vibration troubleshooting), cleaning and corrosion treatment, and various flightline functions like ground handling, towing, jacking, refueling, marshaling, launch and recovery. The position requires documenting all inspection and maintenance actions in aircraft forms and IMDS, performing Red X and IPI inspections, and adhering to good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety practices. The mechanic will also maintain the hangar and grounds, operate Ground Support Equipment, and participate in FOD walks. The role requires knowledge and experience in technical, safety, and environmental issues related to aircraft maintenance, and a working knowledge of various aircraft systems with the ability to interpret schematic diagrams for fault isolation and repair. Occasional travel is required.
