About The Position

This position serves as the technical liaison between Nellis operational test stakeholders and Raytheon engineers, maintaining alignment between Warfighter needs and the Tucson engineering team. The role requires independently clarifying what is being asked, identifying the right technical or operational contacts, and persistently driving responses to closure while maintaining credibility on both sides. It also includes coordinating biannual Weapons School support with subject-matter experts and collaborating with Warfighters to accelerate validation of tactics and capability improvements. The ideal candidate is a highly autonomous, mission-focused communicator with strong technical depth, professional judgment, and the humility to be transparent about knowledge gaps while rapidly learning and delivering results.

  • Proactive communication (keep stakeholders informed, close loops, escalate appropriately, and reduce ambiguity)
  • High autonomy and ownership (self-directed, reliable, and effective without close supervision)
  • Analytical rigor (clarify the underlying questions, validate assumptions, and confirm context and intent to understand how to address the Warfighter’s needs)
  • Technical credibility (translate operational problems into engineering-relevant language and vice versa)
  • Adaptability with changing personnel (Many of the Operational Test personnel change frequently, engage with new pilots/analysts/engineers and establish rapport continually)
  • Collaboration and coordination (align SMEs, schedule academic support for Weapons School, and integrates inputs across multiple squadrons at Nellis)
