Kimley-Horn's DT Los Angeles, CA office is seeking an Air Quality Professional with 2-7 years of experience specializing in air quality permitting to join our environmental team. Requirements

  • Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmental Science, engineering (environmental, chemical, mechanical, civil), atmospheric sciences, physics, chemistry, data science or related field
  • 2-7 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on air quality permitting
  • Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., Clean Air Act, CEQA).
  • Strong writing/verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Permitting Professional (CPP) a plus
  • Experience with data centers and power production

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting air quality impact assessments, analyses, and dispersion modeling.
  • Perform regulatory and technical analyses in support of permitting project in California and throughout the USA.
  • Familiar with modeling tools and software including CalEEMod, EMFAC, OFFROAD, CALINE4, AERMOD, CAL3QHCR, ISCST3, AERSCREEN, SCREEN3, and GIS.
  • Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and documentation.
  • Conduct air quality impact analyses, health risk assessments, and greenhouse gas analyses.
  • Assist with the preparation of permit applications and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in field studies and data collection activities related to air quality.
  • Participate in compliance audits for environmental topics including air pollutants, toxics, hazardous materials, etc.
  • Perform emission calculations for various industrial processes.
  • Understanding design documents and engineering drawings.
  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other relevant software for environmental analysis.
