Employees must be available to work overtime if/when required. COMPENSATION: The base pay for this position is $17.50 per hour. SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to separate and prepare printed and die-cut carton sheets for finishing department operations. This position ensures that product quality, count accuracy, and efficiency standards are maintained while following all safety and company procedures. The position reports to and performs work under the general direction of the Cutting Department Manager.

Requirements

  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to communicate effectively, and discern warning or emergency alarms, including forklift horns.
  • Sufficient vision to inspect sheets and detect defects, review job-related documents, and observe signage in the plant
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to perform repetitive motions in fingering and hand/wrist/arm movements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry at least 50 lbs., and frequently push/pull up to 75 lbs.; work is performed between floor and shoulder height.
  • Ability to stand continuously for 3.25 hours and up to 7.5 cumulative hours during shift.
  • Ability to walk continuously for one (1) hour and up to 3.75 cumulative hours during shift duration.
  • Sufficient body flexibility and balance which require repeated bending, twisting, and squatting motions.
  • Ability to bend and twist at the head, neck and waist.
  • Ability to climbs stairs upon entering/leaving the facility
  • Sufficient ability to concentrate and complete tasks.
  • Use air hammer, aerator, or other similar stripping tools safely and effectively.
  • Safety operate a forklift and electric pallet jack.
  • Be flexible and pivot with a variety of job duties based on.
  • Pay attention to detail and commit to quality.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months job related experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting, preferred
  • Forklift operation experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review production schedule and prepare loads; operate air hammer stripping tools and related equipment to remove waste sections from die-cut sheets.
  • Set up and adjust stripping equipment as required for each job.
  • Use electric pallet jack to stage jobs to be run; ensure item numbers, job numbers and specification numbers are correct with order numbers.
  • Inspect sheets for quality, ensuring cuts are clean and product meets specifications.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
  • Accurately record production data, including job numbers, quantities, and material usage.
  • Work collaboratively with printing and finishing teams to ensure efficient workflow with minimal downtime.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance; must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, practices, values, and standards of conduct.
  • Follow safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as a backup operator for the baler, including feeding, monitoring, and ensuring proper operation when primary baler personnel are unavailable.
  • Assist with material movement, loading and unloading using electric pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Support other production operations as assigned by the manager.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and waste reduction efforts.
