About The Position

This position supports export operations by working with the Manager and internal HAF staff to coordinate global shipments. Reports exceptions and requests guidance from the Manager as needed in daily operations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year or more of experience in a similar or related position preferred
• Able to convey information clearly verbally and in writing
• Some knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping regulations helpful
• Knowledge of dangerous goods handling (HAZMAT) helpful
• Knowledge of TSA regulations
• Organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• Computer literacy including e-mail and the Microsoft Suite of products
• Passion for delivering quality customer service
• Be a team player and have the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines with a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

• High School graduate, college degree in business, transportation or a related field a plus
• Industry certifications a plus

Responsibilities

• Is assigned specific shipments to coordinate complete customer service for shipments exported from the United States
• Selects carriers and routing for international shipments as assigned including contacting airlines to resolve issues
• Calculates volume weight and dimensions in both the metric and imperial system of measurement (feet, inches, pounds, ounces, etc.)
• Calculates shipping costs and provides to Manager
• Coordinates with peers in Logistics, Warehousing, Customs, IT and other internal departments
• Obtains and maintains client SOP requirements
• Handles client requests including billing enquiries, refers complex issues to the Manager
• Other projects as assigned
