About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and curious AI Intern to support our TAM organization in building, optimizing, and scaling AI driven initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about emerging technologies, eager to work hands on with security focused solutions, and excited to contribute to customer facing operational excellence. As an intern, you’ll collaborate closely with Technical Account Managers to assist with AI enabled reporting, process automation, data insights, and internal tooling enhancements. You’ll gain exposure to both the customer’s experience and the technical side of Proofpoint products.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with AI tools, language models, data analysis, or automation platforms (coursework, personal projects, or prior experience all welcome).
  • Interest in cybersecurity, secure data practices, threat intelligence, or adjacent technology fields.
  • Strong customer focused mindset—you enjoy thinking about how technology can improve user experience and customer outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Technical Account Management team in developing and enhancing AI-driven tools, reports, and workflows.
  • Use AI models and automation platforms to generate customer focused insights, summarize security activity, and streamline TAM processes.
  • Help maintain and improve internal knowledge resources using AI (e.g., report templates, summarization tools, dashboards).
  • Support TAMs in preparing customer ready materials that clearly communicate technical information and security trends.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, support, and services teams when needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas on how AI can improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.
