AEM is looking for a highly motivated AI Automation Intern.
Requirements
- Working towards completion of bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with AI tools and large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) and enthusiasm for applying them to real-world problems.
- Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript, with the ability to write scripts, call APIs, and adapt code samples to solve real problems.
- Completed coursework or personal/academic projects demonstrating programming ability in Python or a comparable language; comfortable building small automation scripts from scratch.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex processes into actionable steps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders across departments to document and map existing workflows and identify friction points, bottlenecks, and manual effort.
- Research, evaluate, and prototype AI tools and platforms (including large language models, workflow automation tools, and AI agents) suited to identified business needs.
- Build and test proof-of-concept automations using tools such as Power Automate, n8n.io, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic Claude Code, Claude APIs or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to iterate on solutions and move successful prototypes toward production readiness.
- Document solution architectures, implementation steps, and user guides for deployed automations.
- Present findings, prototypes, and recommendations to IT leadership and business stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
