About The Position

Safepoint Insurance, an admitted Property and Casualty insurance carrier based in Tampa, FL, is seeking an Agency Relations Manager to build and maintain agency relationships throughout the Hawaiian islands. This role focuses on growing and developing a profitable territory, optimizing the growth potential of independent agents, and prospecting new agencies. The manager will also be responsible for developing competitor intelligence and collaborating with team members on product, pricing, and agency management decisions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated professional who can work independently and creatively, and thrives as a "people person" able to connect and engage with all types of personalities.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of related P&C territory management experience
  • In-depth Property and Casualty Insurance industry knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Personal and Commercial Lines underwriting guidelines
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to travel/drive throughout the assigned territory to conduct face to face meetings with existing agents, prospective agents, and attending trade shows and events.
  • Ability to stay current on company’s product and pricing changes.

Responsibilities

  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Build and use best practices regarding Agency Operations, working consultatively to follow up with plans, holding process owners accountable for agreed upon actions.
  • Effectively understand and adjust sales approach to support operational differences between small and large agencies.
  • Identify agencies' interests and ability to grow and motivate agents to succeed.
  • Initiate systematic marketing processes within each agency to attract and retain new business.
  • Possess a strong acumen of influencing the sale of Safepoint products through our agency distribution.
  • Articulate a sales process that is solution oriented, aligning Safepoint's features, benefits, and solutions to agency needs.
  • Initiate a high level of consistent follow up and follow through with agents and team members.
  • Proactively develop business solutions to achieve territory objectives.
  • Maintain flexibility in working with all social styles.
  • Develop collaborative strategic agency management plans with agencies, to achieve mutual business objectives.
  • Prioritize and maximize time and resources to support key focus and responsibilities necessary to achieve success.
  • Stay current on product and pricing changes.
  • Articulate company position and seek out business with appropriate agencies to meet Company objectives.
  • Expand presence in the marketplace using insurance industry association trade shows and events.
  • Create and execute strategic marketing plans for territory to identify opportunities and potential challenges from which strategies and tactics are developed.
  • Execute the sales strategy of growing Safepoint’s market share in the territory by appointing and coaching new agents.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of Safepoint’s and agencies’ computers systems.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as may be assigned.
