About The Position

The Aftermarket Sales Specialist is responsible for driving sales of precision agriculture technology and aftermarket solutions that improve customer productivity, efficiency, and profitability. This role functions similarly to an equipment salesperson but focuses specifically on precision ag technology, aftermarket products, and upgrades, rather than whole goods. This is a sales-focused position with limited customer support responsibilities. Product installations, diagnostics, and ongoing technical support are handled by the dealership’s Service Department, allowing this role to concentrate on customer relationships and solution-based selling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Strong understanding of agricultural equipment and precision agriculture technology
  • Sales experience preferred; background in ag technology, service, or farming highly desirable
  • Ability to confidently discuss technology solutions without performing hands-on installation or repair
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Willingness to travel locally to customer farms and job sites
  • Proficient with computers, mobile devices, and CRM/sales software
  • Experience with precision ag systems, GPS, displays, and data management
  • Familiarity with aftermarket attachments, upgrades, and retrofit solutions

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell precision agriculture technology and aftermarket products, including CNH AFS, Precision Planting, Ag Leader, Yetter, and Trimble
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through on-farm visits, demonstrations, and follow-up sales activity
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate technology and aftermarket solutions
  • Conduct product demonstrations and provide high-level overviews of technology capabilities and benefits
  • Serve as the primary sales contact, with service technicians handling installations and technical support
  • Collaborate with equipment sales, parts, and service teams to ensure a smooth transition after the sale
  • Stay current on precision ag trends, product updates, and competitive offerings
  • Achieve assigned sales goals and contribute to overall dealership growth
  • Maintain accurate sales records, quotes, and customer activity within the CRM system
  • Represent the dealership at customer events, clinics, and trade shows as needed
