About The Position

The Aftermarket Product, Data & Technical Publications Manager owns and governs all aftermarket product information, technical documentation, and catalog structure for Sewer Equipment. This role serves as the single source of truth for parts data, fitment logic, compatibility rules, and technical publications across all sales and service channels. As Sewer Equipment expands its aftermarket and digital sales programs, this position ensures accurate, structured, and consistent product information flows seamlessly between Engineering, ERP, PIM, eCommerce, Marketing, and Dealer channels. The role is foundational to scalability, customer experience, and operational efficiency. This role owns product data correctness and readiness gates. Sales leadership owns commercial prioritization and revenue strategy. Products may not launch or change channels until data readiness standards are met.

Requirements

  • Experience managing product data, catalogs, or PIM systems in a technical or parts-based environment
  • Strong understanding of SKU governance, fitment logic, and product hierarchies
  • High attention to detail with a systems-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, sales, marketing, and operations

  • Experience in industrial equipment, municipal infrastructure, or aftermarket environments
  • Hands-on experience with PIM platforms and ERP integrations

Responsibilities

  • Own all aftermarket product data across ERP, PIM (current or future), and eCommerce systems.
  • Define and enforce standards for naming conventions, taxonomy, attributes, and product hierarchies.
  • Govern fitment logic, compatibility rules, BOMs, supersessions, replacements, will-fits, kits, and bundles.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all platforms.
  • Maintain clean data flow from Engineering → ERP → PIM → E-Commerce → Dealers.
  • Own and manage all aftermarket technical publications, including: Service, operation, and parts manuals Exploded views and technical bulletins
  • Manage revisions driven by engineering changes and lifecycle updates.
  • Standardize templates, formatting, metadata, and version control.
  • Deliver accurate, dealer-ready documentation supporting service and parts operations.
  • Provide structured, optimized product attributes to support SEO and digital discoverability.
  • Maintain product categories, filters, tags, search logic, and product relationships.
  • Ensure all digital assets (images, manuals, specs, videos) are complete and current.
  • Maintain alignment between eCommerce listings, printed catalogs, and internal systems.
  • Prioritize SKU onboarding for digital channels based on readiness and impact.
  • Support the Aftermarket Division by preparing new SKUs, maintaining dealer-ready catalogs, and creating kits, bundles, and service packages.
  • Translate engineering changes into updated product data and documentation.
  • Supply clean, complete data and assets to E-Commerce and Marketing to support listings and campaigns.
  • Own aftermarket SKU lifecycle from introduction → maintenance → supersession.
  • Monitor catalog health, data completeness, and SKU performance.
  • Identify data gaps, inactive SKUs, rationalization needs, and expansion opportunities.
  • Reduce downstream errors through proactive governance.
  • Lead evaluation, selection, and adoption of a Product Information Management (PIM) solution, if not already in place.
  • Define governance standards, workflows, and validation rules.
  • Oversee integration between PIM, ERP, eCommerce, technical publications, and marketing systems.
  • Identify tools, automation, and process improvements to support long-term aftermarket growth.
  • Serve as the authoritative product data and technical documentation owner supporting both: Direct Sales Manager (direct-to-end-user, eCommerce, outbound) Dealer Sales Manager(dealer network and municipal customers)
  • Enable both sales channels by delivering accurate, timely, and channel-appropriate product data, fitment logic, and documentation.
  • Partner with sales leadership to prioritize SKU readiness, kits, bundles, and assortments based on revenue impact while enforcing data readiness standards.
  • Act as the neutral governance layer ensuring channel strategies are executed without compromising data integrity, pricing discipline, or dealer trust.
