If you’re an enthusiastic leader, step into the role of Aftermarket Machining Coordinator within our invigorating Aftermarket Pump Repair Shop, nestled in Chicago's West Loop. Tasked with steering the 2nd shift operations, you'll ensure the seamless and safe running of shop floor processes, optimizing equipment and resource utilization to hit superb targets.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years in a supervisory role within an industrial aftermarket environment managing machinists, mechanics, and shop personnel.
  • Experience in an equipment repair environment, ideally with pumps/power generation focus.
  • Skillfulness in manual machining and welding techniques.
  • Adaptability to high-pressure, fast-paced scenarios with tight deliverable timelines.
  • Mathematical and drawing interpretation proficiency.
  • At least 5 years within a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Robust interpersonal and communicative abilities.
  • High school graduate or similar qualification.

Nice To Haves

  • Desirable manual machining experience with refurbished large parts on horizontal and vertical boring machines.
  • Exhibit strong leadership while executing problem-solving in repair tasks.
  • Experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite beneficial.
  • Additional educational qualifications (Associate degree, or beyond) advantageous.
  • A blend of education and relevant experience is also considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with a focus on employee engagement and development.
  • Plan shop activities thoroughly while addressing customer requirements for each specific pump task, supported by detailed status reporting.
  • Manage ongoing manufacturing tasks with in-house assembly, inspection, and weld shop collaborations to meet targets.
  • Regular updates to Shop Manager with seamless transition of tasks to the next shift supervisor.
  • Engage with Engineers about shop floor matters competently.
  • Strive to meet customer deadlines, ensuring the necessary materials are available pre-job.
  • Review, understand, and communicate blueprint dimensions and job details to personnel effectively.
  • Coordinate for emergency work assignments over weekends as needed.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to company safety protocols and train employees on safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility.
  • Carry out a variety of additional duties as required.
