About The Position

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (housed within the School of Pharmacy) seeks affiliates who can teach both lectures and laboratory classes in a variety of drug development areas. Affiliate faculty are part-time employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, on a semester-by- semester basis. Affiliate Faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.

Requirements

  • PhD, PharmD, MD or RN with 0-5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • MS with at least 5-10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • BS with at least 10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Relevant teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach from a wide variety of courses in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science depending on needs of the Department and qualifications of applicant.
  • Normal duties will be those associated with preparation and teaching lectures and/or laboratories, keeping complete and accurate grade records, adequately evaluating student performance, and appropriately using class time.
  • meeting assigned classes consistent with University, College, and Department policies
  • providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, with Department course coordination policies
  • being available, either face-to-face or electronically, to students in assigned classes to provide additional academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.

Benefits

  • Benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
