About The Position

SAIC has an immediate need for an Aerospace Subject Matter Expert to work on Redstone Arsenal, supporting U.S. Army Aviation Programs, with a primary focus on rotary-wing aircraft. This role is Hybrid Remote with the ability to travel to Huntsville, AL. The position involves interfacing with the UH Project Office on procurement activities daily and working with customer management to understand and implement these activities. Key responsibilities include providing technical leadership and expertise in flight dynamics, stability and control, and aircraft performance to support the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of models for military helicopter platforms. The expert will also support analysis, modeling, simulation, and evaluation of flight characteristics across multiple Army aviation platforms, and lead/support flight testing planning, execution, and data analysis for rotary-wing systems. Responsibilities

  • Will interface with the UH Project Office on procurement activities daily.
  • Will work with customer management to understand and implement these activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in flight dynamics, stability and control, and aircraft performance to support the development and integration, testing, and sustainment of models for military helicopter platforms.
  • Will support analysis, modeling, simulation, and evaluation of flight characteristics across multiple Army aviation platforms.
  • Lead and support flight testing planning, execution, and data analysis for rotary-wing systems.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Responsible for ensuring contract requirements and subcontractor responsibilities are being accomplished including working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract.
  • Responsibilities may include developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for an assigned portion of a program, participating in and establishing and defining program plan requirements, and monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.
