How Will You Make an Impact? As a Purchasing Subject Matter Expert at our Auburn Hills, MI facility , you will serve as a trusted authority across purchasing, materials analysis, and supply chain operations. You will provide deep functional expertise, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and support site leadership in achieving business, cost, and operational objectives. Your insights and strategic guidance will help optimize materials planning, logistics execution, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site. Location: On‑site at our Auburn Hills, MI facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Logistics Management, Business Administration , or related field required; MBA preferred but not required .
  • 3–5 years of related materials or purchasing experience or 6–8 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Advanced PC skills with experience using Jabil software systems .
  • Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and supply chain industry practices.
  • Proven ability to determine logistics and purchasing requirements aligned to organizational goals and devise effective strategies.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including managing business analytics to evaluate and optimize operational footprint.
  • Knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes and global customs regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in change management , continuous improvement, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint , and email applications.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS/NAPM certification preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support materials analysis activities at the site level.
  • Provide functional leadership and guidance to professionals across Purchasing, Inventory Control, Planning, and Configuration Management .
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for purchasing and materials‑related processes and best practices.
  • Oversee and support materials and purchasing data management processes to ensure accuracy and usability.
  • Lead and contribute to cross‑functional projects and strategic initiatives .
  • Partner with site management to develop and support organizational and operational objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, productivity, and process optimization.
  • Support change management initiatives and implementation of best‑in‑class supply chain practices.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
