Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Structural Design Engineer. In this role, you will conduct trade studies and evaluate alternatives - optimizing form, fit, and function of the primary and secondary structure and assembly; Design, develop, and finalize structural arrangements and layouts with systems interfaces; Develop structural design standard parts and fastener selection; Create Build-to-Packages for detailed parts, assemblies, and installations. The successful candidate will have experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with metallic and composite design
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
