Organized, detail-oriented team player with passion for building relationships and elevating the voices of those who care about food insecurity. Supports the development and execution of Government Affairs team efforts to engage internal and external stakeholders in advocacy to mobilize the community around addressing hunger and its root causes. Stakeholders include but are not limited to neighbors experiencing food insecurity, staff, board members, community partners, volunteers and donors. Engagement efforts include educating stakeholders on anti-hunger policies, coordinating grassroots advocacy efforts, organizing meetings and events, directly supporting neighbors to share their experiences with food insecurity, and other duties as assigned. Advocacy Engagement Coordinator will directly support the Neighbor Leadership Council, a group of 8-15 neighbors with recent lived experience in food insecurity, to advocate on federal, state and local policies impacting hunger in the region. This will include facilitating skill and confidence building with neighbors as well as completing administrative tasks, such as organizing logistics for the meetings, including arranging transportation, food, and supplies and coordinating with council members individually to provide support as needed.
