About The Position

This position supports all collaborative research efforts related to the research-practice partnership between MNPS and Vanderbilt's Peabody College. Key responsibilities include planning and facilitating meetings, monitoring progress for all relevant projects and tasks, organizing partnership events, and serving as a central communication liaison for MNPS staff and Vanderbilt researchers involved in the partnership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, public policy, social sciences, or a related field Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or program management in education or a related sector Required
  • 3-5 years of experience conducting or supporting research, evaluation, or continuous improvement studies Required
  • Strong background and proven skills in project management and research design.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with research-practice partnerships, program evaluation, or initiatives focused on educational opportunity.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing research in educational settings (e.g., FERPA, PPRA) and commitment to student privacy.
  • Proficient or familiar with data management and statistical analysis software, preferably SPSS.
  • Skilled in collaborating with district personnel, engaging with the public, and working effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (Monday.com preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support coordination and execution of all research efforts within the Peabody partnership, ensuring alignment with MNPS priorities and timelines.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between MNPS departments, Vanderbilt research teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings, workshops, and events that promote shared learning and engagement in the partnership.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential barriers, and support timely resolution to maintain momentum across partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge management systems to ensure transparency and continuity across partnership activities.
  • Assist in implementation of research plans, including preparing data collection tools, protocols, and reporting processes.
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of research updates and visualizations to inform partnership affiliates.
  • Support the refinement of systems and processes related to research governance, data sharing, and ethical research practices.
