About The Position

Designs, models, configures, tests, and installs databases to support enterprise data needs. This role applies advanced knowledge to manage database systems, ensure data integrity and security, and support business operations. The Data Base Administrator (DBA) also leads projects, mentors junior staff, and resolves complex technical issues.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience in an information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain business relationships.
Proficient in database design, configuration, and performance optimization.
Knowledge of data security, backup, and recovery best practices.
Ability to work independently and manage complex projects with limited supervision

Responsibilities

Document and maintain database backup, recovery, capacity, and security plans.
Administer, maintain, and implement changes to databases based on evolving customer requirements.
Respond to and resolve test and production database issues across technology platforms.
Implement large or multiple development projects with a focus on performance and scalability.
Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure data accuracy and appropriate usage.
Act as a lead liaison between business users, development teams, and support groups.
Coach and support the development of less experienced DBAs.
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
