About The Position

Middletown Christian Schools is seeking an Advancement Coordinator who embraces our vision, mission and core values. As a ministry of Grace Baptist Church, we are committed to providing Christ-centered education grounded in a Biblical worldview. Individuals seeking this position should be convinced that God has called them to the ministry of Christian education. This position assists the Director of Advancement in implementing and supporting a comprehensive development program that strengthens fundraising, marketing, communications, alumni engagement, and community relations. This role supports the execution of strategies designed to secure volunteer involvement and financial resources that advance the mission and programs of Middletown Christian Schools. Responsibilities also include supporting school marketing and communications, event planning, student recruitment efforts, and alumni relations initiatives. The Advancement Coordinator helps carry out the goals of the Advancement Department and the MCS Foundation by working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community members to promote the organization and support advancement goals.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with various software programs such as Microsoft Office, FACTS, and Bloomerang (donor management system)
  • Demonstrates professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadline
  • Represent Middletown Christian Schools in a positive, professional manner within the community
  • Willingness to travel within the greater Middletown, Dayton, and Cincinnati areas
  • Acceptable BCI and FBI report

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Experience in marketing, development, communications, design, and/or public relations preferred
  • Prior nonprofit fundraising experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts
  • Support the management and maintenance of donor records and communications through the donor database
  • Assist with grant research, writing, and submission
  • Help coordinate campaigns and donor stewardship activities
  • Assist with developing and maintaining alumni engagement initiatives
  • Support alumni communications and outreach
  • Help coordinate alumni events and programs
  • Assist with marketing and branding initiatives that promote Middletown Christian Schools
  • Help manage and update school communications including: Website content, Newsletters, Social media accounts, School publications, and promotional materials
  • Support communication strategies for school programs, events and campaigns
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to support student recruitment and enrollment initiatives
  • Assist in the promotion and coordination of recruitment events such as open houses, community outreach events, and informational sessions
  • Support marketing and communication efforts designed to attract prospective students and families
  • Help develop promotional materials that highlight the mission, programs, and educational opportunities available at Middletown Christian Schools
  • Assist with planning, promoting, and coordinating school and fundraising events
  • Support public relations initiatives that increase community awareness and engagement
  • Help develop materials and messaging that represent MCS in a positive and professional manner
  • Assist with recruiting, organizing, and supporting volunteers involved in advancement activities
  • Help provide training and coordination for volunteer involvement
