Riverside Health System is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Cardiology team at our state-of-the-art facility in Smithfield, Virginia . Join Riverside Health System’s Cardiology Team in Smithfield! This dynamic role offers a blend of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities , providing care to both new and established cardiovascular patients. We’re looking for an experienced provider ready to make a meaningful impact by helping shape cardiology services in a brand-new location. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of cardiologists and fellow APPs dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Minimum of 5 years of cardiology experience as an APP is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of cardiology experience as an APP is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Active Nurse Practitioner License
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Physician Assistant: Master’s Degree from an accredited PA program
  • Active Physician Assistant License
  • Eligibility for Virginia medical licensure
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
  • Proficient in diagnosing and managing common cardiovascular conditions
  • Familiarity with managed care and Medicare populations
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Basic computer proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform new patient evaluations, follow-ups, hospital consults, and detailed health assessments.
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests relevant to cardiovascular conditions.
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications and therapies.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options, prevention, and lifestyle changes.
  • Coordinate care with referring providers and other specialties.
  • Accurately document clinical encounters in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in cardiology consultations and team-based care initiatives.
