Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join Riverside Neurology within our Comprehensive Neurosciences Program. This role is centered on general neurology and dementia care, with exposure to multiple subspecialty services. POSITION OVERVIEW The APP will practice in an outpatient neurology setting with a focus on memory disorders, general neurology, and longitudinal neurological care. A major portion of this role is within Riverside’s Comprehensive Memory Care Center, embedded in Neurology. The Memory Care Center is an APP-led model supported by social workers, pharmacy medication reviewers, RNs, and ancillary staff, providing clinical and caregiver support across medical, behavioral, and psychosocial domains. Work collaboratively with neurocognitive specialists and geriatricians at the Martha Goodson Center to deliver coordinated dementia care.

  • Diagnose and manage patients with general neurological conditions, including dementia, epilepsy, headache, and sleep disorders
  • Perform neurological examinations and assessments
  • Order, and collaboratively interpret, and act on diagnostic testing (laboratory, neuroimaging, EEG, EMG)
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and review therapeutic responses
  • Provide patient and caregiver education and counseling
  • Document care using Epic EMR with integrated AI documentation and messaging tools
  • Collaborate closely with neurologists, nursing staff, pharmacists, social workers, and care coordinators
  • Manage outpatient follow-ups and new consults (Note: inpatient coverage is provided by a separate team.)
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Virginia APRN or PA license (or eligibility)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • DEA registration
  • Strong clinical reasoning and communication
  • Confidence working with cognitively impaired patients and caregivers
  • Cultural competence and professionalism
  • EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
  • Neurology, geriatrics, or psychiatry experience preferred but not required
