About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, provides inventory accounting services to various DENSO locations across North America. Acts as a liaison to resolve outstanding issues. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Computes cost value of raw material, work in process and finished goods for inventory purposes. Analyzes actual cost versus standard costs and prepares variance reports. Prepares lower of cost or market, capitalization of variance, margin analysis and other requested calculations. Prepares financial reporting for inventory areas as needed. Monitors inventory adjustments. Works with other departments to improve physical inventory taking with support from higher levels. General ledger and accounting activities including the maintenance of adequate supporting documentation and audit trails. Assist with the month, quarterly and annual close process including coordinating the completion of accounting activity in a timely and accurate manner. Assist with ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with adequate supporting documentation. Prepare and analyze financial reports. Assist with the documentation of policies and procedures and the monitoring of internal controls. Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks, including independent and internal auditor information requests for interim and year-end audit as required. Assist in coaching and development of accounting staff as necessary. Lead assigned special division-wide projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, preferably with a concentration in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and/or business experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS is required, along with an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, gross profit, J-SOX, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, pivot, conditional formatting, advanced formulas, and macros).
  • Knowledge of ERP system (Oracle)
  • Ability to quickly learn processes and systems.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in a deadline-oriented, multi-tasking environment.

  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
