About The Position

This position provides engineering insight and support for the development, integration, and testing of an advanced engine controller for future spacecraft. The role requires expertise in avionics architecture and engine control system design and development. Key responsibilities include defining engine controller functionality, specifying sensors for control and safety systems, managing engine valve operations, and commanding power distribution. The successful candidate will also assist in establishing physical/electrical interfaces, defining inputs/outputs, and supporting the development of the advanced engine controller requirements document. Furthermore, the role involves supporting make/buy decisions for procurement versus in-house design, integrating advanced propulsion systems across multiple engine controller devices, and contributing to design work for instrumentation, harness, and ignition systems, as well as the development and building of engine controllers. Experience in testing and anomaly resolution is essential, as the candidate will be required to support the resolution of both existing and new issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 10 years of experience
  • Knowledge of engine controller hardware and associated testing
  • At least 10 years’ experience with the Avionics Systems
  • Experience with engine test and verification closure processes
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to write and execute avionics test procedures
  • Ability to analyze test data for performance verification and anomaly resolution
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required
  • STAR ID is required
