About The Position

The Advanced Cook at Black Desert Resort is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest culinary and sanitation standards. Reporting to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef, this position plays a key role in food preparation, assisting with menu execution, and supporting kitchen operations. The Advanced Cook works in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong culinary skills, precision, and efficiency.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a fine dining, resort, or high-volume kitchen.
Strong understanding of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous improvement.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on resort operations.

Nice To Haves

Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and efficiency, following recipes and plating standards.
Assist with station setup, mise en place, and ingredient preparation before and during service.
Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation according to resort standards.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients, monitoring freshness and minimizing waste.
Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Support Sous Chefs and fellow cooks by executing menu items and special event dishes.
Monitor kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff to uphold culinary standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring efficiency during service.
Other duties as assigned
