Led by dedicated physicians, advanced practice providers, specialists and caregivers, Arnold Palmer Hospital offers a wide range of advanced pediatric services in an environment built just for kids. The Pediatric Urology Department at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Pediatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join their team as we continue our efforts to offer comprehensive urologic care to children by addressing reproductive system and urinary tract concerns utilizing the least invasive treatments available. The Pediatric Urology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work collaboratively with supervising physicians, residents and other APP colleagues to co-manage pediatric urology patients according to established practice guidelines and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards. The APP is responsible for managing patients in a full variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, consultations, and rotating call.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.
- Certified as a Pediatric Primary Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; or certified as Physician Assistant.
- Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
- Maintains current BLS and PALS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatrics preferred.
- Two years of pediatric subspecialty practice desired.
- Nephrology, Urology or Adolescent GYN experience is a plus but not required.
- Will consider new graduates.
Responsibilities
- Inpatient management and rounds alongside surgeons and pediatric residents.
- Perioperative care coordination and patient education to enhance the care of the pediatric urologic patient.
- Evaluate urologic consults within Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital in conjunction with pediatric residents/fellows
- Outpatient clinic responsibilities including specialty clinics, satellite clinic and perioperative care while effectively diagnosing, identifying, evaluating and developing a plan of care in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Surgical coverage as needed for staffing deficits.
- Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs for nursing, residents, fellows, APP students and other learners
- Holidays, weekend and night coverage dependent on staffing needs and patient acuity
