Adult Peer Support Specialist for Quick Response Team- QRT (KRCC – Knott County) Title: Adult Peer Support Specialist Company/Location: Kentucky River Community Care/ Knott County Outpatient (Emmalena, KY) Employment type: Regular Full-Time Credentials: High School Diploma/GED; must be willing to attend thirty (30) hours of peer support training. Special Skills/Knowledge: Ability to maintain effective, professional, and positive relationships with staff, volunteers and program participants is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle. Experience of living with substance use disorder and have at least two (2) years in active recovery. Primary Functions: Provide supportive services to individuals, including mentoring, coaching, advocacy, and arranging and/or chairing self-help meetings. Facilitate short-term educational groups (i.e. relapse prevention, life skills) and provide linkage to referral and community resources. Assist implementing participant’s treatment/recovery plans. Transporting program participants in personal vehicle may be require. Attend and participate in training activities and meetings is required. Assist with identifying barriers each participant faces and in developing a solution for them. Perform any other duties as assigned.
