About The Position

Framingham Adult ESL Plus is a part-time, grant-funded program that offers classes at no cost to adult learners in the Metrowest area. The program offers morning and evening classes in English as a Second Language, High School Equivalency, and Citizenship, both In-Person and Online. The program offers classes in the morning and the evening. The part-time position of Assessment Support reports to the Assessment Coordinator to help administer and score DESE-mandated assessments to gather essential data for reporting and accountability. Requirements

• Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of education.
• Training in DESE-mandated testing (TABE, BEST Plus, MAPT) is required, but can be obtained after hiring.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to questions from students, staff, parents, and community members.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills to evaluate information, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
• Capacity to use professional literature, evidence-based research, and ongoing professional learning to inform instructional and practice decisions.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community.

• Experience in evaluating student skills, interpreting assessment data, and writing clear, concise reports.
• Strong collaborative, instructional, coaching, and leadership skills to support student programming.

Responsibilities

• Administer DESE-approved Assessments Conduct standardized assessments mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to evaluate students' language proficiency and educational readiness. Ensure adherence to DESE testing protocols to maintain the integrity and validity of the assessments.
• Follow Testing Procedures : Implement established procedures for the Framingham Adult ESL Plus program, ensuring that all assessments are administered consistently and fairly across all classes. Stay updated on any changes to testing procedures or regulations to ensure compliance.
• Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of all tests administered, including scores and participant information, to support accountability and reporting requirements. Submit daily records to the Assessment Coordinator, ensuring timely and organized documentation.
• Collaboration with Staff : Work closely with the Assessment Coordinator and other educational staff to align assessment practices with program goals and student needs. Participate in team meetings to discuss assessment results, student progress, and strategies for improvement.
